With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude, we honor the life of Kirsten Poveda, a cherished resident of Parker, Colorado, whose passing has left family, friends, and neighbors with a deep ache and an even deeper appreciation for the light she brought to our community. In the midst of grief, we give thanks for who Kirsten was—compassionate, resilient, and unwavering in her love for the people and places she held dear.

Kirsten loved Parker’s spirit—the way the mountains stand close, how neighbors become friends, and how Mainstreet still feels like home. She believed that community is built in small, faithful acts: volunteering at school events, cheering from the sidelines, dropping off a meal without being asked, remembering birthdays and hard days alike. Whether you knew her from Douglas County schools, from early mornings at the trailhead, from church, or from coffee dates that turned into hours, you knew the same Kirsten: warm, genuine, and quick to make space for others.

To her family, Kirsten was a devoted daughter, sister, partner, and mother whose love was both fierce and tender. She found joy in the rhythms of home—pancakes on Saturdays, car rides with the windows down, holiday traditions she made sacred, and quiet evenings when the Front Range glowed at sunset. She taught that kindness is a daily choice, that courage can be quiet, and that showing up—especially when it’s inconvenient—is what love looks like. The values she lived—faith, integrity, and empathy—continue in the family she nurtured and the home she filled with laughter.

Friends will remember Kirsten for her loyalty and her laugh. She was the call you made when the news was good and when it wasn’t. She celebrated your wins without envy and sat with you in sorrow without flinching. She loved Colorado’s seasons—the first snow dusting the open space, spring wildflowers along the Cherry Creek Trail, summer concerts in the park, and fall leaves against a bluebird sky. She had a gift for noticing: the person who felt left out, the detail that made a day better, the beauty in an ordinary Tuesday.

Parker feels her absence in real places: the classrooms where she volunteered, the trails she walked, the porches where her wave was part of the day, the tables where her seat is empty. Yet the measure of a life is not only its length, but the love it leaves behind. By that measure, Kirsten’s life was abundant. Her influence continues in the friends she encouraged, the children she loved, and the standard of grace she set for all of us.

To the Poveda family and everyone mourning her, we offer our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the community Kirsten loved, in the stories that keep her voice near, and in the faith that carried her and can carry you now. Grief is love with nowhere to go—so let it go toward one another, toward remembrance, toward the good she would want us to keep doing.

Rest peacefully, Kirsten. Thank you for the time, the compassion, and the light you gave Parker. You will be missed every day and remembered with love, always.
